   Well Known in Southern China as a leading trainer with respect to Safety Management Systems. Over thirty years experience in the Oil and Gas, Construction. Mining and petrochemicals.

   Has working experience in many countries including Colombia, India, Malaysia, China and UK.

   China experience includes fatal Accident Investigations, development and implementation of integrated management systems, leading HSE teams and teaching numerous NEBOSH courses in the region.

   Also developed and implemented business coutinuity plan for large chemical manufacturing site.

   Responsibilites

   Member of the Alliance Management team;

   Appointed as manager responsible for PTA1 project team, deals with all projects related to PTA1 up to execution phase;

   Single point accountability for HSE on the site;

   Providing HSE leadership to BPZ management team;

   Development and delivery of an integrated business management system to ISO9001, 18001 and 9001 standards. )Operations Phase);

   Coadhing and development of Alliance staff including Alliance Management team;

   Development of HSE training programmes for all levels of staff;

   Development and Delivery of the HSE team annual work plan

   Lead and give direction to the HSE team.

 

1988~1994    Offshore Safety Advisor ( Mainly on the Clyde Platform)

   Main responsibilities

   Providing leadership in occupational health and safety;

   Advising Platform management on safe systems of work;

   Work site inspection and auditing. Daily liaison with safety reps.;

   Training of Platform staff in safety topics. Investigation of accidents and incidents;

   Liaison with HSE inspectors,  Acted as on site commander during emergencies. Designed and implemented various Occupational Health & Safety Programmes, eg. COSHH, Hearing conservation, radiation awareness.,

   Control of safety budget. Responsible for the activities of Fire officer/safety assistant

 

1986~1988    Assistant OIM, Thistle platform, BRITOIL

   Main Responsibilities

   Responsible for all aspects of operational safety. Acted as on site commander during emergencies. Liaison with DoE inspector and certifying authority. Responsible for Investigation of accident & incidents. Carried out site inspections and advised platform management on safe systems of work.

   Acted as OIM on numerous occasions on the Beatrice Platform.

   With the take over of Britoi by BP th role of Safety Engineer and Assistant OIM were combined to that of Offshore Safety Advisor.

 

1983~1986     Offshore Safety Engineer. Thistle platform, BRITOIL, Responsibilities

   Estalished & managed the EHS programs; Several sites subseguently won safety and environmental awards.

    Mentored and led teams in all Asia business operations to implement world-class systems, achieved compliance with corporate and country requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley, and ISO14001 / OHSAS18000.

    Led the bulk commodities transportation and dangerous goods for industries of a $500MM project.

 

1974~1983   Deputy Underground Manager, National Coal Board. ( Various collieries within the Barnsley area)

    Responsible for coal production form 2 coal faces and for progress of development work.

    Leading multi disciplined teams in order to maximise production> Responsible in law for the health and safety of the work force

    Negotiation with union officials in order to minmise disputes. Liaison with Mines and Quarries Inspectorate.

    Took control of underground emergencies , eg. Fire, gas release and serious personal injury.
